Program

Day 1: Marrakech or Agadir – Erg El Mhazil

• Morning Departure: From your hotel in Marrakech or Agadir, begin the scenic drive south.
  • From Marrakech: Cross the majestic Tizi N’Tichka Pass through the Atlas Mountains.
  • From Agadir: Traverse the expansive plains at the foot of the Atlas.
• Arrival at Foum Zguid: Pass through Tazenakht to reach the gateway to the desert.
• Iriki National Park: Enter the park, journeying across stony plains framed by plateau-shaped mountains.
• Arrival at Erg El Mhazil:
  • Enjoy welcome tea at the camp.
  • Watch a stunning sunset from the big dune.
  • Dine around a fire with a delicious tagine.
  • Spend the night under the stars.

Day 2: Erg El Mhazil – Erg Elhaj Ahmed

• Morning Trek: After breakfast, set out with the camel caravan carrying equipment.
• Hiking: Walk at a leisurely pace through the magnificent sea of dunes in a preserved desert setting.
• Afternoon: Set up camp at Erg Elhaj Ahmed.
  • Relax, enjoy the quiet, and immerse yourself in the rhythm of desert life.
  • Spend the night under the vast, star-lit sky.

Day 3: Erg Elhaj Ahmed – Erg El Ghoule

• Morning Departure: Pack up camp and head towards Erg El Ghoule.
• Desert Exploration: Observe the subtle flora and fauna that reveal the vibrant life in the dunes.
• Evening:
  • Camp setup at Erg El Ghoule.
  • Share stories, music, and insights into nomadic culture around the campfire.

Day 4: Erg El Ghoule – Oasis El Grisim

• Morning Trek: Depart for the Oasis El Grisim, a tranquil and refreshing haven in the middle of the desert.
• Oasis Experience:
  • Discover the cultural significance of oases.
  • Participate in traditional activities like sand-bread baking and the tea ritual.
• Evening:
  • Enjoy the magical atmosphere of the oasis.
  • Sleep in tents or under the stars.

Day 5: Oasis El Grisim – Marrakech or Agadir

• Morning Departure: Take a 4×4 back to Foum Zguid, crossing the plains of the dry lake Iriki.
• Lunch Stop: Pause in Tazenakht for a meal.
• Afternoon Drive: Return to Marrakech or Agadir, arriving at your hotel by late afternoon.
